London trip

The last trip of the pre-sessional English course was to go to London where I extremely looked forward it. When I came to UK, obviously, London was the first place I prefer to visit.

We got up very early even though we really sleepy. We took the school coach and there was some raining outside. It took us nearly 3 hours that we have arrived at my dream place at last. However, the weather was unpleasant that the rain was beoming increasingly heavy. We walked along The Thames for a time and then, we got to the central of London. It was very excited that I saw the Big Ben which was very great and wonderful. There were a few churches nearly the Big Ben.

After lunch, we went to the London Eye and visited some places nearly it. Then, we just walked along the streets of London. I wondered that London was a very old but beautiful city. It still kept the original looks although it was very modern. The shops seemed like very exquisite and interesting.

However, as we were the first time to visit the London, so we totally missed the way. At last, we could not find the way to get together with our friends. We were very anxious with the embarrassed mood. Fortunately, we got in touch with our teachers, and he picked us at the opposite of the London Eye.

It was really an expressive and memorable trip that I will not forget.

Letter to me

Dear me,

I am very excited that I have studied in BCU for almost 5 weeks. It is my first time to study aboard. I left my country, my hometown and my family. I feel deeply proud for myself and particularly excited as I have never been alone before. I must to do all the stuffs include my daily works which are very tried sometimes. However, I wonder this is a valuable experience for me to improve myself. I recognized a wide range of friends who are particularly interesting. They come from different countries and we feel like that we are a family here. I feel warm and happy everyday although I am quite miss my sweet home and family. But, I will continue to practice myself and try to do a better me. I will not stop my adventure, and feel more about the real world.

Culture shock

I have arrived at Birmingham UK for almost 5 weeks. This is the first time for me to come to UK and I feel very strange and fresh here. The appearance of British citizens and their cultures are quite different with me. So, it takes me log time to fit in here. However, personally, I am deeply interested in different cultures and different civilizations.

Generally speaking, I find that British people has a very strict routine that they will not waste any time when they get off work. As me personal experience, I felt this habit very deeply. One day, I intended to find my flat for my main course with my friend. We appointed a time with the consultant of the living agency. However, we came late because of the traffic jam, but we just late for a few minutes and it would not take a long time. However, the advisor did not wait us. I knew that we should not blame it, I just felt very strange and can not fit it with. Compared with Chinese culture, these advisors will wait us for a few minutes, they will not care about the time so much.

I wondered that in China, people will not care about the time so strictly. In contrast, I find that British people treat their routine very strictly, they will not be late, meanwhile, they will not arrive early as well. At first, I feel that I could fit it this culture, but now I considered that this is a very normal and good living habits. It teaches us that we should pay more attention to our time. Everyone’s time is valuable that it would not be wasted by anyone else. So, in the future, I will completely pervious my time.

Capital punishment

In the current society, we have a wide range of methods of punishment. Some of its are extremely strict, such as, death penalty. However, in different countries, they have a various of policies, and some of countries rejected the death penalty.

Some people claimed that death penalty is a kind of necessary policy in our modern society.

Generally speaking, I agree with the death penalty in my mind. Because there are so many crimes in our society, some criminals will do lots of crimes if ther are no strict policies to limit. I think if someone does some crimes very seriously and their have no strict policies to limit them, the world is going to be disorder. Furthermore, the offenders may not afraid of the government. And at last, the victims must be our innocent citizens. And I considered that people should pay the cost of what they have done. If you hurt someone, you should be punished as same as your have done to the victims.

However, some people asserted that the death penalty should be prohibited. Because we do not have right to judge other people’s life even though they have done something bad to other people or to the society. It is about human right. We may can punish them or send they to the jail, but we have no right to kill the victims.

These ideas are rooted in the western countries particularly. They considered that human right is one of the most significant thing in the modern society.

a letter to myself

my first job

My first job was a shop assistant in the American brand Holister in Beijing. One day I hung out with my friends, and a shop assistant of Holister came to me and highly recommended that I could get a job in this shop if I was interested in. At that time my school assignment was not very tough or excessive, meanwhile I was very interested in this job, so I agreed to attend the face interview. I thought this would be my first experience that I contacted with the society. I treasured this chance as much as I can. I usually worked 4 days a week with many temporary assistants together. The massive workload made me feel tired but I enjoyed the substantial feelings. Basically speaking, folding the clothes, cleaning the shelves as the main work belonged to us. At this time when I worked in this shop, I learned a lot. Not only the marketing method of this brand but how to got in touch with other people as well. Otherwise I recognized that the sense of responsibility was the most essential factor to an employee. All in all, I felt like that I acquired a lot through this experience.

experience of city centre campus

Today I went to the library of city centre campus to borrow some books for my final essay. It was a new and fresh experience for me as I have never been to this library before.. I am curious about this campus very much because I will study here until my pre-sessional English finished. The library is so modern that beyond my imagination. I was really looking forward my main course here. The exterior of the library is just like an advanced museum which collets amount of resources that we can use freely. It’s very convenient and direct. I got two books for my essay. However things got little terrible when we left the school. As we are the strangers here we can not find the way back. We waited for bus for a long times with our anxious hearts. Fortunately, we found a few our friends that we came back together. But now, I still get little confusing about the traffic line in Birmingham and I have to confess that I ‘ll miss the bus again.
